Ripple tank is a device to illustrate the laws of wave phenomenon-using ripples on the surface of water as the prototypes of all transverse waves. Ripple tank illustrates important wave motions like rectilinear and circular. It can also demonstrate refraction, diffraction and interference of water waves. This compact unit provides an elegant method of demonstrating the wave phenomenaof reflection, diffraction, refraction and interference with none of the setting-up problemsusually associated with ripple tanks. The concept has been developed to offer newfeatures in this  design. A 10cm tank on a base unit provides the wave generatorand light source to project wave images on to the translucent screen which can then beviewed from above. The LED light source has been upgraded to give super-brightimages and can now be controlled independently of the wave generator. Three settingsgive light ON, SYNC and FREE. Sync has wave frequency synchronized to lightfrequency to give perfectly stationary images. Free gives independent control of thelight frequency to give slowly moving images. Supplied with a full set of interchangeable dippers, barriers, refraction plates and plug top power unit.
